The Cullowhee KA Alumni hosted Convivium for the Active Chapter this past Saturday, January 18th at the Cullowhee Volunteer Fire Department. Originally planned to be held at the East LaPorte Masonic Lodge, it was brought to our attention last Wednesday that the Masonic Lodge had not scrapped the snow and ice from the driveway and parking lot. When contacted they stated that there was no plan to scrap their property. Not wanting to change the dates, we quickly went about the job of finding another space. After talking with some other potential sites within the school and the community, it was determined that the new Cullowhee Volunteer Fire Department’s Meeting Room would work. Once we arrived on Saturday though, we were told that there could be no food in the meeting room (it’s carpeted), thus we held Convivium in the large bay area. While not the most appropriate setting, it served the purpose we needed. Fifteen Alumni Brothers were in attendance, along with 24 Active Brothers. The meal was provided by WCU Catering (Aramark) and the featured speaker was Brother David Rayburn, who gave a heartfelt talk about being KA Brothers.
