Two Randolph Macon Brothers Recognized at College’s Greek Life Awards

At the 2023-2024 Randolph-Macon College Fraternity & Sorority Life Awards ceremony, on Sunday, May 5th, in Birdsong Hall, Gabriel M. “Gabe” Martin (Zeta–Randolph-Macon ‘) received the Outstanding Chapter Presidents Award, and Alexander O. “Alex” Buzzo (Zeta–Randolph-Macon ’22) received the Commitment to Fraternal Relevance Award.

Gabe has served his chapter as Number VII (Parliamentarian) and Number I (President).


Alex headshotFrom Roanoke, Virginia, Alex is a rising senior majoring in criminology, political science, and sociology.

Alex joined KA after transferring from the Virginia Military Institute and has served his chapter as Number V (Historian) and Number III (Recording Secretary).

Outside of KA, Alex has served as  Vice President of Service and Philanthropy for the Interfraternity Council and currently serves as its President. He is a member of several honor societies including Pi Sigma Alpha, Alpha Phi Sigma, and Order of Omega, and is I am the acting Vice President for Order of Omega. He also serves on the board for Randolph Macon’s Ducks Unlimited Chapter and is an active member of the Pre-Law Society and Leadership Fellows.

Last year, Alex won the Order of Omega Greek Emerging Leader Award, and this year, he won the Commitment to Fraternal Relevance Award. I have also received nominations for ODK’s Sophomore Leadership Award and the Junior Leadership Award.

“The brothers are welcoming and know precisely what they want in an individual when bringing new members in; to me, joining was a calling,” Alex commented. “Our values were pushed hard on me, and it did not take long to see why they mattered so much. Excellence is my favorite because I have yet to see a reason as to why I should stop developing my character.”
