Two alumni brothers of the Zeta Pi Chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University recently joined the FGCU Alumni Association Board of Directors; David C.Merrill ’08 and Bradley D. Williams ’12. The FGCU Alumni Association promotes and assists with programs and attends key alumni events, inspiring other graduates to give their time, talents, and financial support to academic programs, research, and service opportunities.
David C. Merrill is currently an Associate in Wicker Smith’s Naples office where he focuses on first-party contracts claims, premises liability claims, automobile accidents, medical malpractice concerns, and construction defect cases.
Mr. Merrill graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2013. Prior to beginning law school, Mr. Merrill worked as Director of Risk Management for Kappa Alpha Order, where he oversaw the risk reduction and management program, which included over 127 active chapters and 7,800 undergraduates.
In 2017, he continued his education at Ave Maria School of Law earning a Juris Doctor in 2020. While in law school, he interned for Arthrex, Inc., where he assisted with global multi-department projects dealing in compliance, legal, and business affairs. Following his time at Arthrex, Inc., he joined Wicker Smith as a Law Clerk in 2019. As a student at Ave Maria School of Law, he served as an executive officer of the Moot Court Board, President of the Federalist Society Chapter, Senator for the Student Bar Association, and won the 2018 Ave Maria School of Law Robert H. Bork Internal Appellate Competition.
Mr. Merrill is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, boating, and watching his favorite sports teams with friends and family.
Bradley D. Williams joined Ciccarelli Advisory Services in October 2019 as a Client Services Associate to Lynn Ferraina. Bradley assists with annual review meeting preparation, maintaining client records, creating reports for analysis, and serving clients needs and requests. He is currently pursuing his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation through a joint program with the University of Florida and Dalton Education.
Prior to joining our CAS team, Bradley spent three years working for two financial firms – AXA Advisors and State Farm. Bradley holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 registrations, as well as FL life, health, and variable annuity licenses.
Bradley is originally from Winter Haven, Florida, but moved to the SWFL community in 2012 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University. While attending FGCU, Bradley was an active member and chapter president in the Zeta Pi chapter of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. Bradley was also an active member in the Eagles chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association. He graduated in 2016 with a B.S. in Finance and a minor in Real Estate.
Outside of work, Bradley spends his time with family and friends, playing golf and fishing in Boca Grande. He is also a passionate Florida Gators football fan and when time allows, attends as many games as possible.
