Texas A&M Alumnus Inducted into Houston High School Hall of Fame

headshotCullen Gillaspia was recently induction into the Katy ISD Athletic Hall of Honor. is a celebration of his dedication, leadership, and the remarkable journey he has traveled from Katy High School to the NFL. Known for his determination on the football field, Gillaspia’s legacy includes his time at Texas A&M University, where he held the revered title of the 12th Man—an honor symbolizing the university’s commitment to team spirit, resilience, and the support of the entire student body.

Gillaspia, a member of Kappa Alpha Order’s Epsilon Delta Chapter at Texas A&M, embodied the fraternity’s values of brotherhood, leadership, and gentlemanly conduct throughout his college career. He began as a walk-on but quickly made his mark, eventually becoming Texas A&M’s 12th Man from 2016 to 2018. In this role, he played in every game, becoming the first 12th Man to be drafted into the NFL. His performance was nothing short of historic, particularly during the Gator Bowl when he scored the first offensive touchdown by a 12th Man in Texas A&M history.

Beyond his achievements on the field, Gillaspia’s story reflects the core principles of Kappa Alpha Order. His commitment to excellence and integrity was highlighted in the Fall 2019 issue of The Kappa Alpha Journal, which celebrated his accomplishments and emphasized how the fraternity’s values supported his growth. Drafted by the Houston Texans in 2019, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of playing professionally for his hometown team, becoming an inspiring figure for his fraternity brothers and the broader Texas A&M community.

Today, as a member of the Katy ISD Athletic Hall of Honor, Gillaspia continues to be a source of pride for both his hometown and Kappa Alpha Order. His story exemplifies how the power of perseverance, strong character, and brotherhood can lead to greatness—a legacy that will inspire current and future members of Kappa Alpha Order to pursue their goals with dedication and integrity.
