The following brothers were initiated into the Order in the Model Initiation Ceremony on Saturday, July 31, 2021, during the 79th Convention & Brotherhood Weekend in Phoenix, Arizona. The ceremony was held in the Grand Ballroom of The Arizona Biltmore and conducted by brothers of the Gamma Epsilon Chapter at the University of Arizona, assisted by Associate Director for Chapter Services Gabriel A. Rodriguez (Alpha Iota–Centenary ’16), and directed by Dustin G. Brann (Alpha Omega–North Carolina State ’11) and Jacob W. Warren (Gamma Gamma–Memphis ’14).
Taylor R. Day (Gamma Epsilon–Arizona)
After excelling academically in high school and serving as captain of both his football and wrestling teams, Taylor enlisted in the United States Army. He served as a paratrooper stationed in Alaska. Since leaving the Army in 2018, Taylor has been pursuing a degree in aeronautical science through both Yavapai College and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. He is now a commercially licensed pilot working towards earning his flight instructor certificate. His goal is to fly for an airline or for the Department of Homeland Security. His grandfather is former Province Commander Edwin P. Rather (Pi–Tennessee ’60). Taylor currently resides in Tucson, Arizona, with his wife, Amanda, and newborn daughter, Payton. In his free time, Taylor enjoys watching football and playing golf.
William F. Murray (Tau–Wake Forest)
Bill received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago and received his master’s degree in Executive Management at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He currently holds both property and casualty producer and surplus lines licenses throughout the United States. He is also a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), an Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), and a Trainer of Underwriters at General Reinsurance Group. Prior to his time in insurance, he served as Lieutenant Commander for the United States Navy. In Bill’s free time he enjoys flying as a private pilot. Murray resides in Manchester, Vermont.
Scott C. Reed (Xi–Southwestern)
Scott was born August 3, 1967, to former Mikell Province Commander Sanford C. (Xi–Southwestern ’63) and Charlotte Reed. He grew up in Alice and San Antonio, Texas, with two sisters, Susan and Michele. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1985, attended Texas Tech University from 1985–1986, and graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He and his wife Kyna have 3 children, Morgan, Payton, and River, and two grandchildren, Olivia and Ryan. Scott has worked in the commercial insurance field for 30 years as a specialist in employee benefits. His past employers include Prudential, Aetna, Humana, Marsh. For 15 years, he owned a benefit agency until it merged with Higginbotham Insurance three years ago. In Scott’s free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, volunteer work for the San Antonio Rodeo, and spending time with family.
