Brothers of Gamma Omega Chapter gathered on October 11 and 12 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of their chartering at Midwestern State University. Twenty-one brothers attended including members of Alpha and Beta pledge classes, as well as the first Number I Royce Heller who was initiated in Oklahoma City at the Orders 50th convention.

A Chapter of Sorrow was held in honor of four brothers who had passed on to the Chapter Eternal since the group’s last annual meeting on the second Friday and Saturday in October 2023.

This year’s “Gathering” was a special celebration of their March 1964 beginning. They reviewed March 1964 newspaper articles about their chartering activities provided by the National Administrative Office. Scrapbooks, the Chapter Record Book, and pictures were also available.

“It was a special and emotionally moving two-day gathering,” Larry D. Slack ’67 commented.

Four of the founding members and pledges presented their memories of how Gamma Omega Chapter began, who was instrumental in the chapter’s founding, and its special meaning to them still today.
