The Alpha Gamma Chapter at Louisiana State University has been recognized for its outstanding efforts in supporting the victims of Hurricane Helene. Through a collaborative initiative with Brian Harris Auto Group, the chapter not only collected the most supplies among participating fraternities but also made the largest monetary donation, totaling $2,986.
Brennan M. Miller, Operations Manager of the Brian Harris Auto Group, highlighted the chapter’s dedication stating, “The young men of Alpha Gamma have stepped up tremendously during this time of need, and their actions are highly commendable.” The partnership has also strengthened ties between the auto group and the fraternity, with several chapter members employed by the company in recent years. The dealership expressed admiration for these young men, emphasizing the mutual respect that characterizes the relationship and its potential for growth in the future.
The fraternity’s initiative has not only provided critical relief to storm-affected communities in the Carolinas but also generated positive media attention for Greek life within the Baton Rouge community. This effort underscores the chapter’s ability to mobilize resources effectively and demonstrates how fraternity values translate into real-world impact.
“I think that KA has a great community and is always willing to help others,” Number V and Philanthropy Chair Kyle Ogea ’21 said. “Given this opportunity to be able to be apart of something bigger than ourselves and help victims of Hurricane Helene hit close to home given Louisiana’s history with hurricanes. This was something we could not pass up and I can say without a doubt that the men of Alpha Gamma including our alumni stepped up to the plate and exceeded expectations. It’s an honor to serve this chapter and I am proud to be a part of it.”
Alpha Gamma’s involvement is part of a broader legacy of service, building on their engagement in previous disaster relief efforts and philanthropic causes. Their actions reflect the core principles of Kappa Alpha Order—leadership, generosity, and brotherhood—leaving a lasting positive impression on both their community and partners like Brian Harris Auto Group.
