On Friday, March 18th, 2022, Knight Commander C. Douglas Simmons III (Beta Tau–Mississippi State ’95) re-issued the Epsilon Xi Charter to the gentlemen of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Provisional Chapter. The ceremony and banquet were held at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, and were well attended by alumni, parents, staff, and volunteers.
Since the provisional chapter was established in November 2019, the chapter worked to recruit thirty-two (32) members while achieving a 3.149 Spring 2021 grade point average. Members also became involved with philanthropy and service efforts within the Charlotte community and on campus. Throughout the course of the last academic year, the members have completed an estimated 150+ hours of service during their time as a provisional chapter with organizations such as volunteering at Mecklenburg County soup kitchens, coordinating two blood drives in partnership with OneBlood, and volunteering with a local nonprofit’s 5K promoting donations and awareness for breast cancer. The chapter has raised over $4,300 for MDA and the Independence Fund. Members of the Provisional Chapter are involved on campus in club sports including soccer, volleyball, basketball, and flag football. Other organizations members participate in include Student Government Association, Esports, Resident Assistants, and Campus Catholic Ministry.

Hudson, Jr. (Epsilon Xi–North Carolina-Charlotte ’90) led the pledge of allegiance, and Former Knight Commander Ben W. Satcher, Jr. (Delta Omicron–Clemson ’79) gave the invocation.
