Alumni from the Gamma Upsilon Chapter at East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A & M-Commerce)
recently celebrated its 65th Anniversary Reunion at the Hella Shrine Events Center in Garland, Texas, on Saturday, February 22nd.
“What a fantastic day and night of Gamma Upsilon Brotherhood!” commented Gamma Upsilon Alumni Chapter President John Chenault (Gamma Upsilon–East Texas A&M ’73) who led the Reunion Committee along with Ken Flournoy (Gamma Upsilon–East Texas A&M ’69).
In addition to 95 wives or significant others, 172 brothers came from nine different states to celebrate Kappa Alpha Order and Gamma Upsilon Chapter. Former Knight Commander Michael Duncan (Delta Kappa–Stephen F. Austin State ’69) was in attendance and gave the Convivium Toast, and National Chaplain Dwain Knight (Delta Kappa–Stephen F. Austin State ’04) led the Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Since the Active Chapter’s inception in 1960, more than 1,190 brothers were initiated before its closure in 2018.
