Davis Dalton (Delta Beta–Delta State ’15), Chief Financial Officer for Yazoo County School District, was named a 2024 Top Young Professionals in the Delta listing by the Delta Business Journal. The listing honors outstanding young professionals who exemplify the qualities of leadership, experience, and community involvement that truly define the spirit of excellence that embodies the Mississippi Delta Region.
Dalton graduated with an accounting degree from Delta State University.
“I knew that I wanted to learn how business really works, and I found that through the field of accounting, I could truly understand how money flows within businesses,” Dalton responded to how he chose his career path.
“I would have to say my favorite part of my job is being responsible for overseeing funds to enrich the student’s education in Yazoo. County.” Dalton commented when asked about his job. “It is so rewarding to see the hard work of the faculty and staff pay off to help the children in our school district.
He and his wife, Mary Kate, reside in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, and have two sons, Mark and William.
