Col Brian P. Juaire (Gamma Tau–Sam Houston State ’97) was promoted and assumed the duties as Assistant Chief of Staff G-3/5, Force headquarters Group in June 2020.
Colonel Brian Juaire was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and graduated from Klein Oak High School, Spring, Texas in 1993.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on March 23, 1994. In March 1995, Col Juaire (then LCpl Juaire) was assigned to Co A, 2d BN, 23d Marines in Houston, Texas.
In 1997, Col Juaire attended Officer Candidate School, Quantico, Virginia and received his Commission in 1998. Following completion of the Basic School, Col Juaire (then 2ndLt Juaire) was assigned to the Provost Marshal’s Office, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training from 1998 until 2004. There he served as the Operations Officer, Deputy Provost Marshal and Provost Marshal.
In 2004, Col Juaire (then Capt) left active duty and joined the Selected Marine Corps Reserve. In 2005, he joined Co D, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion and served as a Reconnaissance Platoon Commander. In 2007, Col Juaire was mobilized and deployed with 4th Reconnaissance Battalion to Iraq in support Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer. Following his return from deployment, he assumed duties as the Executive Officer, Co D, 4th Reconnaissance Battalion.
In 2010, Col Juaire (then Maj) was mobilized and assigned to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Force as the Future Operations Officer. In 2011, he deployed as part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Force, Command Element aboard the USS MAKIN ISLAND.
In 2012, Col Juaire was assessed into the Active Reserve Program and assigned to I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). There he served in the Operations Section as the Assistant Force Management Officer / Reserve Integration Officer. In late 2012, Col Juaire (then Maj) was selected to serve as the senior advisor / officer-in-charge for a Police Advisor Team in Kajaki, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. From 2013, following his deployment to Afghanistan, he returned to I MEF and resumed his duties as the Force Management Officer / Reserve Integration Officer.
From 2015-2016, Col Juaire (then LtCol) was assigned to the Marine Forces Reserve and served as the Regional Operations and Plans Officer for Africa / Europe, G-3/5 (Operations).
From June 2016 to June 2018, following selection for command, Col Juaire (then LtCol) served as the Inspector-Instructor (and Site Commander), 1st Civil Affairs Group, Camp Pendleton, CA.
From July 2018 to May 2020, Col Juaire (then LtCol) was assigned to the Marine Forces Reserve and served as the Operations Officer, G-1. In June 2020, Col Juaire assumed duties as Assistant Chief of Staff G-3/5, Force Headquarters Group.
Col Juaire is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement (’98).
Col Juaire’s personal decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with four gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
