The Samuel Zenas Ammen Province Court of Honor held their annual dinner & induction ceremony at the Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, March 15, 2025. More than forty brothers and guests gathered to celebrate our beloved Kappa Alpha Order and those distinguished alumni who have given their time, energy and service to KA. The following men were recognized and invested with the provincial cross of honor in recognition of their outstanding service to the Order and accomplishments which have brought honor to Kappa Alpha Order.

Shawn B. Gannon (Zeta–Randolph-Macon '75)

headshotShawn B. Gannon was initiated into the Zeta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at Randolph-Macon College in November 1974. A native of North Jersey, Shawn brought with him a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie, which he honed through years of playing football. These values aligned naturally with the brotherhood of KA, which he joined after forming close friendships early in his college experience.

During his undergraduate years, Shawn served as both #2 and #1 officer of the Zeta Chapter, demonstrating early leadership. Since graduation in 1978 with a B.A. in English, he has remained deeply committed to the Order. For over two decades, he has played an active role on the board of Zeta Lodge, the organization that owns the chapter’s property and house, Lambert Hall.

Professionally, Shawn built a successful career in industrial sales, a path opened to him through a KA connection. He rose from sales representative to managing a multi-state region with over 25 representatives. He has also served as advertising manager for his local branch of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Shawn’s KA brotherhood has extended well beyond college. Since the 1980s, he has helped grow a tradition known as “Boys Weekend” into an annual gathering of 12–16 fraternity brothers, reinforcing lifelong bonds and support through life’s milestones.

Outside of KA, Shawn is a devoted husband of 40 years, a father, and grandfather. He is an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a regular blood donor, and a passionate runner, having completed multiple marathons.

Shawn credits the Kappa Alpha experience with shaping his life in profound ways and considers the lifelong friendships formed through the Order his greatest reward.

Michael B. Gimbert (Epsilon Eta–Virginia Tech '82)

As an undergraduate, he displayed outstanding leadership by serving as the chapter’s Number I during the 1984–1985 academic year. Under his leadership, Epsilon Eta was recognized with the Most Improved Chapter Award at the National Leadership Institute, a reflection of his dedication to the ideals of KA and his ability to inspire positive change.

Professionally, Michael has cultivated an impressive career spanning more than 36 years in commercial real estate. He currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Curtis Investment Group, Inc., where he oversees investment operations. Prior to his current role, he was a principal at Gimbert Associates, LLC, a commercial mortgage banking firm based in McLean, Virginia. His expertise covers a wide range of functions including acquisitions, finance, leasing, development, and asset management.

Michael earned his B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech and continues to exemplify the Order’s values through his professional integrity, leadership, and sustained involvement in KA affairs.

Charles Leonard Isaacs (Zeta–Randolph-Macon '72)

headshotCharles Leonard Isaacs was initiated into the Kappa Alpha Order in 1972 at the Zeta Chapter of Randolph-Macon College. His commitment to KA began early, serving in several chapter leadership roles and founding the *Zeta Newsletter* as its first editor. He also represented his class as a freshman on the college’s Honor Council and was a standout member of the golf team, earning recognition as one of 1974’s *Outstanding College Athletes of America*.

As a student, Leonard attended the national convention at Vanderbilt University—a formative experience that deepened his connection to the Order. That trip, marked by a memorable encounter with Chancellor Alec Heard (a former shipmate of his father in WWII), exemplified the lasting bonds and shared values of KA.

After graduating from Randolph-Macon, Leonard began a successful 43-year career in the insurance industry, including work with Continental Insurance and later as an independent agent. His life’s work extended beyond business—he was deeply committed to community and sport. An avid and accomplished golfer, he served as president of both the Richmond Golf Association and the Middle Atlantic Golf Association. He chaired the Virginia State Cancer Golf Championship (1993–1996) and co-founded the Willow Oaks Fall Invitational, attracting golfers from across the U.S., Canada, and England.

Throughout the decades, Leonard has remained a steadfast supporter of KA. He has formed enduring friendships with brothers from Zeta and beyond, many of which continue through the long-standing “Boyz Weekend” reunion tradition. These gatherings, full of camaraderie and shared memories, have become a highlight of each year and a testament to the lifelong brotherhood Kappa Alpha fosters.

Gregory Taylor (Epsilon Phi–George Mason '91)

headshotGregory Taylor was initiated into the Epsilon Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at George Mason University in 1991. His influence helped shape the chapter’s foundational character and enduring values during its early development.

A dedicated scholar, Greg earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from George Mason University, followed by a Master of Teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is currently pursuing a postgraduate Certificate in Accounting from the University of Virginia, continuing his lifelong pursuit of knowledge.

Professionally, Greg has built a highly impactful career in public service. He serves as an Investigator with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General’s Division of Debt Collection, where since 2013 he has led major investigations into fraud cases affecting the Commonwealth. His work has resulted in over $70 million in recoveries, including a $63 million settlement in a landmark RMBS fraud case and the nation’s first cybersecurity fraud settlement. Prior to this role, he worked as a Legal Assistant and Compliance Review Officer at Spotts Fain, PC.

Greg is also deeply engaged in civic life. A devoted husband and father of three, he has served the Powhatan Soccer Association as a coach, board member, and president over a 15-year period. His dedication to youth development and sportsmanship is matched by his lasting commitment to Kappa Alpha.

He remains an active and generous alumnus, serving on the Jeremy Lee Starns Scholarship Committee—a collaborative effort with George Mason University—and making the significant financial contribution that enabled the fund to reach endowment status.

Greg’s lifelong embodiment of KA’s values in his professional, personal, and civic endeavors makes him a worthy nominee for induction into the Court of Honor.

Daniel Webb (Epsilon Phi–George Mason '89)

headshotDaniel Webb, a founding father of the Epsilon Phi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at George Mason University, was initiated in 1989. Known affectionately as “The Legend,” Dan was the first student at GMU to contact the National Office of the Order with the vision of establishing a chapter. Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from George Mason University and currently serves as a key member of Business Network International. His career reflects a passion for relationship-building, business development, and mentorship, echoing the fraternal values that first inspired him to create a chapter of KA.

His lifelong commitment to the Order has been unwavering. In 2024, he continued his support by donating funds for chapter equipment used in KA ceremonies and by contributing to the Jeremy Lee Starns Scholarship, helping it continue its mission to honor a fallen brother.

Dan’s pioneering spirit, ongoing support of the fraternity, and dedication to the principles of Kappa Alpha Order make him a distinguished and deserving nominee for induction into the Ammen Court of Honor.
