On Thursday, October 7, 2022, the Wood Court of Honor held its annual induction ceremony at the University and Whist Club in Wilmington, Delaware.
Following a reception and the installation of Eugene M. “Gene” Julian as Preceptor, two brothers were recognized and invested with the provincial cross of honor in recognition of their outstanding service to the Order and accomplishments which have brought honor to Kappa Alpha Order.
Adam C. DiSabatino (Beta Epsilon–Delaware ’09)
Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology and Construction Management from the University of Delaware in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington University in 2017. He is a board member for numerous groups including Nativity Preparatory School, Cancer Support Community of Delaware, Mary Campbell Center, and Brandywine Ducks Unlimited. Adam is a member of the Loyal Order and has remained active in supporting the Beta Epsilon Chapter and house. Adam lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife, Alana, and two children, Wyatt and Josephine, and is a Project Manager/Owner for EDiS Company.
Brent E. Buswell (Beta Eta–Oklahoma ’09)
Brent graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administrator in Marketing from the University of Oklahoma in 2013. As an undergraduate, he served as Number I, III, V, and IFC Congress Delegate. Brent joined the staff of the Kappa Alpha Order National Administrative Office in 2014, as an Associate Director for Chapter Services, and is currently the Director of Communications. He is a member of the KAOEF’s Crimson & Gold Society and the Loyal Order. Currently, Brent is serving as a National Vice President for JCI USA (U.S. Junior Chamber/Jaycees), as Master of Mountain City Masonic Lodge No. 67 A.F. & A.M., and as the Director of Finance for the Fraternity Communications Association. He previously served two terms as president of the Lexington-Rockbridge Jaycees and one term as the 87th State President of the Virginia Jaycees in 2021.
After a wonderful dinner, Preceptor Gene Julian welcomed brothers, paid tribute to those brother knights who had passed away, and facilitated the introduction of brothers in attendance. Former Preceptor Douglas S. Ewalt gave an update on the finances of the Court, Former Province Commander Steven E. Hastings gave an update, and Former Knight Commander and KAOEF Executive Vice President Ben W. Satcher, Jr. gave a State of the Order.
The Court looks forward to its next annual dinner and induction on Thursday, October 5, 2023, in Washington, D.C.
