The E. Fleming Mason Memorial Internship Program was created to provide deserving undergraduates with the desire to become better educated and informed on both the public and private sectors of our national government. In addition, this program will give undergraduates the opportunity to gain professional work experience while living in the Washington, D.C. area. The E. Fleming Mason Memorial Internship Program provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to any interested Kappa Alpha Order undergraduate. Brett J. Burton (Zeta Nu–North Florida ’15)

Brett is majoring in Political Science, and a member of the Dean’s List. He was Vice President of College Republicans, Treasurer of College Republicans, and a Student Government Senator. A native of Jacksonville, FL, Brett is a first-generation KA. Brett serves his chapter currently as the Tailgate Chair for Spring 2017. In Fall of 2015, he was elected to Vice President, and again in 2016. In 2017 was selected as the Zeta Nu, “Brother of the Year.” Brett fundraises for Wounded Warriors in Jacksonville in his own time, volunteers with his fellow Veterans, and is a voting member on the Republican National Committee in Jacksonville, Florida.
Tyler L. Garcia (Gamma Omega–Midwestern State ’14)

Tyler is a graduating senior Political Science major with a minor in International Studies. He has served as re-chartering Number III and Number II of his chapter, as well as Interfraternity Council Vice President. Tyler is participating as a student lobbyist for the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act (CHIA) in Washington D.C. this April. Tyler was an intern for U.S Congressman Mac Thornberry (District 13-TX) and Houston City Council Member Brenda Stardig. He also recently served on the City Council Campaign of 2015 Mason Intern Jesse Brown. Tyler is a member of his university’s Model United Nations team. He has been a facilitator for multiple leadership development programs including the Order’s Emerging Leaders Academy.
Matthew P. Reaves (Delta Tau–Francis Marion ’13)

Matthew is a senior majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He was initiated in Fall 2013 and has since served as President, Historian and Treasurer. Matthew also served as the social chairman along with roles in the philanthropy committee and prudential committee. He has been initiated in to Chemistry and Leadership related honor societies and also held office positions as Treasurer and Secretary of the Interfraternity Council. Matthew is currently working in the Emergency Room at McLeod Hospital as a medical scribe, and he hopes to attend Medical School next year.
Elliott K. White (Zeta Pi–Florida Gulf Coast ’13)

Elliott is a senior majoring in Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University as a student of the Honors College. He has goals of attending medical school after completion of his Bachelor’s degree. He served as a Peer Academic Leader for the FGCU Center for Academic Achievement and was also involved in student government on campus. He previously served his chapter as Community Service Chair, Purser, and Number 1. A native of Clewiston, FL, Elliott is a first-generation KA. He recently served on the Executive Council as National Undergraduate Vice Chairman for 2016. He helped serve as the voice for nearly 8,000 active KA brothers. He is currently an intern for an orthopedic surgeon in Fort Myers.
