Jesse S. Lyons

Joining staff in June, 2002, Jesse first served as an Educational & Leadership Consultant. In fall 2003, he became a Chapter Development Consultant, and in January 2004, he was promoted to Director of Chapter Development. In this role he led the creation and re-colonization of twenty-three Active Chapters, and assisted in starting seven more provisional chapters. In January, 2011 he became the Director of Communications.
In July, 2014, Jesse was promoted to the position of Assistant Executive Director for Advancement and is responsible for the Order’s comprehensive communications and marketing efforts. He leads public relations activities, including brand management, publication creation, and digital media, along with the national website, for both internal and external audiences. He serves as primary spokesperson for the Order, managing all media relations. He oversees the Loyal Order, the Order’s official licensing program, and official online store, KAonlinestore.com. He is also the Editor of The Kappa Alpha Journal.
Additionally, Jesse helps direct the Kappa Alpha Order Educational Foundation’s communications efforts, to include much of the same duties as with the Order, and assists with the archivist and archives operations. He also supervises the management of the information technology, and, building and grounds of the National Administrative Office at Mulberry Hill.
In the interfraternal community, Jesse has held membership in the Fraternity Executives Association (FEA) and received his 10 Year Member award in 2012. He also joined the Board of Directors of the Fraternity Communications Association in 2012 and is currently serving in his second year as President.
Jesse is a Forever KA member, a member of the Crimson and Gold Society, and a member of the Daniel R. Neal, Henry C. Chiles, William Sprigg Hamilton, Horace H. White, James Ward Wood, Samuel Zenas Ammen, Ed Chambers Smith, and William McLeod Frampton (South Carolina) Province Courts of Honor.
Jesse resides in Lexington, Virginia with his wife, Tracy, and one-year-old daughter, Annalee. He is currently the President of the Lexington-Rockbridge Jaycees, Master of the Mountain City Lodge No. 67, and Chairman of the 40th Annual Rockbridge Community Festival.
