Jim Ewbank is a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Jim graduated from Baylor Law School in 1980 and has practiced civil litigation in Austin, Texas since then.

Jim is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injnry Trial Law and has previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas Law School, teaching Trial Tactics. Jim is a frequent speaker at State and local Bar Association seminars on civil trial techniques and substantive areas of civil litigation. He has been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly Magazine and elected as an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

He has negotiated with universities and colleges on a wide variety of legal issues affecting Greek organizations.

Jim is actively engaged in risk management and liability avoidance of fraternities and sororities, including review and revisions of the Risk Management Policies, insurance coverage issues, mandatory binding arbitration, seminars on Risk Management to national staffs, and production of Risk Management videotapes and materials to be shown to individual chapters.

Jim has been a frequent speaker at fraternity and sorority conventions and Leadership Colleges, as well as Greek Leadership Seminars and workshops throughout the nation for colleges, universities and Greek organizations. He is a contributor to Fraternal Law Newsletter.

Jim has consulted with 20+ national fraternities, sororities, universities and local chapters on litigation and risk management issues. He has worked on behalf ofNIC on legislation in Texas and filed an Amicus Brief for NIC in Indiana.
